Trusted Gold Coast Arborists, Hand-Picked by Us

Finding a reliable arborist on the Gold Coast should not be a gamble. We have done the hard work of vetting and personally selecting the best local tree professionals so you do not have to. Every arborist in our network is fully qualified, insured, and experienced with the trees, soils, and weather conditions unique to the Gold Coast region.

The Gold Coast stretches from Coomera and Helensvale in the north, through the urban centres of Southport, Surfers Paradise, and Broadbeach, down to Coolangatta on the southern border. Inland, the hinterland suburbs of Mudgeeraba, Nerang, and Worongary feature larger blocks with established trees, while beachfront properties from Main Beach to Tugun deal with salt-affected species and coastal winds. Each area presents different challenges, and we match you with an arborist who knows your specific suburb.

Whether you need a dangerous tree removed from your backyard in Robina, regular pruning for a body corporate in Burleigh Heads, or emergency storm response in Palm Beach, we will connect you with a trusted expert who knows the Gold Coast inside and out. Every provider carries $20 million in public liability insurance, holds AQF Level 3 qualifications, and has been police checked.

Common Tree Species on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast's subtropical climate supports an extraordinary variety of tree species. Understanding what is growing on your property helps determine the best approach to removal, pruning, or ongoing management.

    Native Species

Eucalyptus species are the most common native trees on the Gold Coast, including tallowwood, blackbutt, and various ironbarks. Moreton Bay figs are found throughout older suburbs and parklands - these massive trees can have root systems that damage foundations, paths, and plumbing. Brush box, hoop pines, and various rainforest species are common in hinterland areas like Mudgeeraba and Tallebudgera Valley.

    Exotic & Ornamental Species

Poinciana and jacaranda trees are popular ornamental choices across Gold Coast suburbs but can grow very large and require regular pruning or removal when they outgrow their space. Camphor Laurels are a declared weed species that grow aggressively and are commonly removed.

Norfolk Island pines line many beachfront streets. Cocos Palms, Golden Cane palms, and Alexandra Palms are found in almost every Gold Coast suburb and are one of the most frequently removed tree types.

Gold Coast City Council Tree Regulations

Gold Coast City Council administers vegetation management under its Planning Scheme and the Vegetation Management Code. In general, you may need council approval to remove or significantly prune trees that have a trunk diameter of 40 centimetres or more at 1.3 metres above ground level, or trees located within mapped environmental areas, waterway corridors, or heritage precincts.

Some species are exempt from permit requirements - including declared pest species like Camphor Laurels and Cocos Palms. Trees that are dead, dying, or pose an immediate safety risk may also qualify for exemptions. However, it is always best to check before starting work.

The arborists in our network are experienced with Gold Coast City Council regulations and can advise you on whether a permit is needed. If one is required, they will handle the application process for you.

Body corporate and strata properties on the Gold Coast have additional considerations. Common property vegetation is typically the responsibility of the body corporate, and removal or pruning of significant trees may require both a body corporate resolution and council approval. Our arborists regularly work with body corporate managers across the Gold Coast.

    Gold Coast Storm Season Preparation

The Gold Coast storm season runs from November through to April, bringing strong winds, heavy rainfall, and occasional severe thunderstorms. Trees that are dead, structurally compromised, or growing too close to your home become serious hazards during storm season.

Branches can fall on roofs, vehicles, and fences, while weakened trees can topple entirely.

The best time to prepare is before storm season begins. A professional arborist can assess your trees, remove deadwood, reduce heavy canopies, and identify any trees that should be removed before they become a problem. This proactive approach is far less expensive than dealing with emergency storm damage after the fact.

If a storm has already caused damage, our network includes arborists who provide 24/7 emergency response across all Gold Coast suburbs. They can attend urgently to make your property safe, provide reports for insurance claims, and complete full cleanup once conditions allow.
