Trusted Tweed Coast Arborists, Hand-Picked by Us
The Tweed Coast and Tweed Shire is home to some of the most stunning vegetation in New South Wales - from the coastal she-oaks and Norfolk pines along the beachfront to the ancient rainforest giants near Mount Warning (Wollumbin). This rich biodiversity also means property owners regularly need professional tree services, whether for safety, access, or property maintenance.
We have personally vetted and selected the best local arborists so you can get expert tree care without the guesswork. Every provider in our network is AQF Level 3 qualified, carries $20 million in public liability insurance, and has been police checked. They understand the unique trees, soils, and weather patterns of the Tweed region - from the sandy coastal strips to the rich volcanic soils of the hinterland.
The Tweed Coast is growing rapidly, with new developments in Casuarina, Salt, and Kingscliff creating demand for both vegetation clearing and ongoing tree maintenance. Meanwhile, established suburbs like Tweed Heads, Banora Point, and Murwillumbah have mature trees that need professional attention. Whatever your situation, we will match you with the right arborist for the job.

Common Tree Species on the Tweed Coast
The Tweed Coast sits at the transition between subtropical and warm-temperate climates, creating ideal growing conditions for a remarkable range of tree species. Coastal suburbs feature different species to the hinterland, and understanding what is growing on your property helps determine the best approach for removal or maintenance.
Coastal Species
Norfolk Island pines are the most iconic trees along the Tweed Coast foreshore, particularly in Kingscliff and Cabarita Beach. Coastal banksias, she-oaks (casuarinas), pandanus, and paperbarks are common along the dunes and estuaries. Cocos Palms are widespread in residential gardens and are one of the most frequently removed species due to their messy fruit and rapid growth.
Hinterland Species
Inland areas around Murwillumbah and the Tweed Valley support towering eucalyptus, massive Camphor Laurels (a declared weed species), hoop pines, bunya pines, and remnant rainforest species including red cedars, white beech, and Moreton Bay figs. These large species often require crane-assisted removal on rural and acreage properties.
Tweed Shire Council Tree Regulations
Tweed Shire Council has tree preservation orders that protect significant trees across the shire. In general, you will need a permit to remove or significantly prune trees over a certain trunk diameter, or trees located within mapped environmental zones, riparian corridors, or heritage areas. The specific requirements depend on the zoning of your property and the species of tree.
Certain exemptions apply - including for dead or dying trees, trees that pose an immediate safety hazard, and declared pest species like Camphor Laurels. The arborists in our network know the Tweed Shire Council regulations well and can advise you on whether a permit is required before any work begins. If a permit is needed, they will prepare and submit the application on your behalf, including any required arborist reports.
